Bob Champion

Founder, CEO & Partner

Bob runs a family office that specializes in real estate investment with multiple business strategies. Under Bob’s leadership, the Champion platform has generated in excess of a 20 annual return (XIRR) to its investors over the past 20 years. Bob has a Master’s of Real Estate Development from USC where he also taught real estate investment, development, and urban planning for over 16 years. Bob is a nationally recognized speaker and has published numerous articles on real estate, the economy, and public policy.

Parker Champion

COO & Partner

Parker runs the daily operations while heading Champion’s high yield and value add cash flow investment activities. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Policy, Planning and Development and a Master in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California plus a California Real Estate Broker’s license. He is a member of the University of Southern California Los Angeles alumni network, the National Multi-family Housing Council, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Margie Champion

Co-Founder & Partner

Margie co-founded Champion real estate with her husband Bob in 1987. In the early years she acted as real estate broker on behalf of the company’s acquisitions, leasing and investment sale activities. As the company grew, Margie focused on the company’s brand and project designs. Most recently, she has assisted on the strategic planning for the company as it has transitioned from a focus on Retail to multi-family and, most recently, student housing.

Garrett Champion

Senior Vice President & Partner

Garrett joined the team in 2013 and heads the urban infill residential development activities consisting of multi-family, student housing, and mixed-use development. He is a graduate of the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, and received a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Garrett is an active participant with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Hawai’i Alumni Association and the Urban Land Institute.

David Lichterman

Chief Financial Officer

Champion’s Chief Financial Officer, David has been with the Company since 2004. His real estate experience spans 30 + years as a developer, asset manager, CPA and attorney. He has provided a diversity of legal, financial, tax, development and investment services to companies such as Ernst & Young, General Growth and Universal Studios. David graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned his JD from Wayne State University Law School.

Christopher Wilson

Vice President, Partner

Business partner to Bob Champion since 1985, Chris heads Champion’s Investor Relations division and all retail investment activities. He was the founder and of Wilson Retail Group, the largest independent real estate brokerage firm focused on the retail sector in Southern CA. Chris graduated from the USC with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and received a Master in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He holds a California Department of Real Estate Broker license and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Greg Beck

Vice President, Partner

Joining Champion in 2005, Greg heads Champion’s development and construction activities. He is currently entitling and developing both a mid-rise and high-rise project in Los Angeles and a high-rise mixed-use project in Seattle. Additionally, Greg is overseeing over 10 value-add construction projects across 4 states. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Taryn Townsend Doe

Controller

As in-house auditor, Taryn prepares the financial reporting for investors. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she specialized in the real estate industry. After public accounting, she worked for Westfield Corporation as a Senior Analyst in their Leasing Finance and Business Improvement groups and later was a controller for Marquis Property Company. Taryn received her undergraduate degree from UCLA with a major in Business-Economics and a minor in accounting. She earned her MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.

Patti Kusumi

Vice President, Administration

Patti is an original Champion employee and has been with the organization for over 25 years. Currently managing human resources, she has served in multiple capacities including controller, leasing agent, property manager, and joint venture and escrow liaison. Patti is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management, a CPM candidate and a licensed notary public. She oversees and participates with operations, financial reporting and accounting, investor relations – all within the broad scope of the Company’s real estate development and investment activity.

Emily Batmunkh

Senior Accountant

Emily joined Champion in 2019 as a Senior Accountant. In this role, Emily primarily prepares financial reporting and loan draws for lenders. She also assists our CFO with special projects. Before joining our team, Emily worked as a senior accountant in both the marketing & retail industries and a public accounting firm. She graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Master Degree in Business Administration.

Katie McNall

Senior Accountant

Katie joined Champion in 2022 as a Senior Accountant responsible for financial reporting and construction accounting across the Champion assets. Her career spans both the private and public sectors which is inclusive of an IPO of a large single-family REIT, Goldman Sachs securitizations, KPMG and BDO audit oversight, implementation of SOX compliance procedures and investor reporting. She holds a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Southern California.

Michael Wilson

Analyst

Michael joined the team in 2019 as an Analyst for Champion Real Estate Company. His primary responsibilities include acquisitions, underwriting, data analysis, and market research. Additionally, Michael supports the company’s investor relations by managing the investor portal and assisting with investor communications and the fund-raising process. He holds a California Department of Real Estate Salesperson’s license and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Emory University.

Melissa Wall

Executive Assistant

Melissa joined Champion in 2019 as Executive Assistant providing administrative support to the Champion team. After graduating with a Political Science degree from the University of Washington in 2000, she spent six years in residential real estate lending before accepting a position in the Real Estate Department of Flying J Inc. Upon relocating to California in 2015, she worked as an office assistant for a residential developer before joining Champion.
